This is part of a larger series of work that focuses on manual laborers in Southern Taiwan. Society as a whole focuses so much attention towards people that are monetarily successful and have the "ideal" job. Through these pictures I have shown the value of these jobs as well portray the enjoyment that these guys are finding in their work. These shots intentionally use a commercial format of lighting and posing, in order to create a contrast between the setting of the factory and the photographic techniques. These challenge the general conception of a dirty, unhappy factory worker, and rather romanticize the value of hard, manual labor.
