This is an exploration into the men who work on commercial fishing boats and the surrounding environment of the harbor. As our society simultaneously becomes more consumeristic and financially incompetent, it is important to remember the basic necessities of our survival. Food is vital to life, and in Taiwan, fish makes up a large proportion of the Taiwanese diet. Although food production is so important and makes up a large portion of our economies, it seems as if those workers that preform the job of providing food are often underpaid and are not given the respect that their jobs demand.
This series takes a deeper look at the men who work on Taiwanese fishing boats.
