Wether it be a desire to see the world, make easy money or learn new languages there are numerous reasons why people leave their country of birth and carve out a life in a foreign country. Taiwan offers a haven for people that want to satiate these desires. Not only does the country offer incredible opportunity for study, but the welcoming nature of the people and their great desire to learn the English language attract many people.

All towns and cities that harbor a large population of ex-pats will have a local watering hole that attracts the majority of this ex-pat population. This project revolves around such a bar and the clientele that frequent the place. These pictures offer a look into the nationalities and profession of the people found in the local ex-pat bar, The Armory.
